Family Weekend to Sign

Families will have the opportunity to expand their sign language skills with current vocabulary, learn conversational sign language phrases, enhance their understanding and use of sign language through opportunities to communicate with others who are Deaf.

Who: Families who have children birth through age 21  who are Deaf or hard of hearing and receiving early intervention or special education services. 

Date: November 15-16, 2025

Time: 10:00 am on Saturday to 1:00 pm on Sunday

Virtual Sign Language Classes

These statewide sign language classes are for families of children who are Deaf or hard of hearing or professionals working with children who are Deaf or hard of hearing.  

Class Format:  

• These classes will be held virtually from 7:00 to 8:00 pm CST on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning October 7th and will end November 13th. 
• The same material will be covered in the Tuesday and Thursday classes for the week. For example, on October 7th and 9th the same information will be taught. This will give participants the opportunity to choose the day that works best for them.  Participants wanting additional practice could come to both classes during the week if they wish.  
• There will be 2 tracks for participants; a beginner track and an intermediate track.
• There will also be a class taught in Spanish for any participants who would like that option.
