Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Grades 10-12)

This contest will take place Saturday, April 27, 2024 @ 10:00 am at Auld Pavilion in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Students in grades 7-9 will compete in an exhibition to improve their skills and students in grades 10-12 will compete for 2 $2500 college scholarships.

The theme for this year’s speech is “How to Change the World with Optimism”.

Students who are interested in competing must complete the following by April 1, 2024

• Optimist Application for the 2023-2024 Communication Contest for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing (click here)
• Send a copy of your most recent (less than 24 months from contest date) audiogram or cochlear implant mapping report to SNRP

The application and audiogram can sent to SNRP any of the following ways:

Speeches must be submitted to SNRP by April 19, 2024.  After speeches are submitted, no changes can be made.
